Google Instant – Googles New Search user Interface

Yesterday Google Launches Its new Interface For Search Called Google Instant..To make them faster( I dont think Google is slow ). If you experienced it, after typing the something the search query bar is going up and results are changing  as you type,  you feel the speed of that.

Google thinks search users take too much time to write the whole query in search input box, and apparently i think it would takes more searches for users to get a good or best results. As per my think it would be more effecting to large queries.

Lets look What Google says about it on highlighted view :

“Our key technical insight was that people type slowly, but read quickly, typically taking 300 milliseconds between keystrokes, but only 30 milliseconds (a tenth of the time!) to glance at another part of the page. This means that you can scan a results page while you type.”

You can experience the Google instant via opening the Google.com/instant with sign in. You can see the changes in serps and adword ads while you type.

Now how this changes effects,

As per Google says, we can see increase or decrease on impression in Google analytics and Google webamster tools. As now your chances of get the impressions are more or less depends upon the query. They specified how they counted the impressions.

When someone searches using Google Instant, ad impressions are counted in these situations:

  • The user begins to type a query on Google and clicks anywhere on the page (a search result, an ad, a spell correction, a related search).
  • The user chooses a particular query by clicking the Search button, pressing Enter, or selecting one of the predicted queries.
  • The user stops typing, and the results are displayed for a minimum of three seconds.

What more changes, the series of questions take there…

Rankings are changed ? No rankings are going to stay, because algorithm or search is not changed they changed the UI. So results are going to stay. But now the keywords you choose will play the role to get the clicks for your site.

Is long tail keywords dead with google instant?

Is difference between singular or pular version of keyword is dead?

Is branded business are going to eat the cake with Google Instant ?
