Link exchange process starts with the searching for potential link exchange partners who are in same business or have relevant site and willing to exchange link with other sites. The process depends upon mutually understanding of the parties.
Here is the step wise link exchange process we follow:
Define Categories:
Define the categories under which your site will be added.
Prepare a List of competitors:
Make a list of competitor website who is compositing for the same key phrases. You can find your competitors by performing a search with the key phrases which you use to optimize your web site in Google/ Yahoo and MSN. Take first 10 as your keen competitor.
Look for the links:
Perform a search in Google and Yahoo using link operator, link:http://www.competitorwebsite.com . List of all sites linking to the competitors' web site will appear.
Find Other website:
Also try to find out similar non-compositing web sites with high PR.
Along with that also ensure that the site has:
- Resources or Link page with the links to other websites linked with the index page.
- Also look for the Email address and the contact page is appearing on the site. In case of multiple email address it is advisable to have webmaster email address.
Details documentation of links:
If you have completed all the 4 steps, make a word document which contain
- Title OR Anchor Text from which a link will be given.
- Description of the page
- URL of this page
- URL of that page where your link will be appeared
- Email address OR URL of the contact page OR Submit form page
- Contact person's name (If Applicable)
Link Exchange Request:
Write a request mail with the offer to exchange link with your site. With the details where you have added their website link on your site.
Check For the responses:
If you are not getting proper response. Again send a reminder of your proposal and tell them about the benefits of Link exchange.
Database Of Site with whom Link Exchange establish successfully:
After the confirmation of other party, check your link on their site. If found properly make a database and record all the URL in to the database.
Reports:
If you are doing it for your clients send a details report contains the URL of the sites which contains a link to your client's site.
